Who is the Voice of DC?
It’s me, Rick Bernstein. Thanks for visiting.
I am a Washington, D.C.-based professional communicator with two decades of experience helping for-profit, not-for-profit, and government clients raise awareness and revenue for their missions in a variety of ways.
For one, I am a professional Voice Actor and have been featured on radio spots for well-known local organizations like Giant and Inova Health System, as well as a voicing corporate e-learning videos, financial services and technology product demos, golf clubs, running shoes, you name it.
I have served as official Master of Ceremonies for the Mrs. America Organization since 2015, and led pageants for D.C., Pennsylvania, and Delaware, as well as for the Miss for America and Mrs. American pageant systems. (It’s also a ton of fun to serve as unofficial hype man for school events and extra curricular activities for my kids, and I have enjoyed calling high school basketball games as well).
Also since 2015, I have advised and supported hundreds of not-for-profit organizations in their drive to improve efficiencies, enhance donor cultivation, and raise more revenue. After receiving my auctioneer licensing for D.C. and Virginia, I began a boutique consultancy to serve as a Fundraiser providing Master of Ceremonies, live auctioneer, and fund-a-need services for live and virtual fundraisers.
In 2020, amidst a global pandemic, I thought it was time to begin sharing my story as a Gen X’er coming of age in the D.C. area. So one Saturday afternoon I pressed record and The Pod of DC was born, a mix of personal stories and interviews with fascinating people I have shared life with over the years.
So yeah, storytelling and spreading social good is my thing. If your project could benefit from having a seasoned and mission-focused collaborator at your side, please Contact me. I’d love to help!
